DUBAI – A dominant performance from Al Nassr FC saw them secure a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Al Wasl FC in their AFC Champions League Two quarter-final clash in Dubai on Sunday.

Spearheaded by Cristiano Ronaldo, the Saudi side delivered an attacking display at Zabeel Stadium, confirming their place in the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League Two.

The match began with immediate intensity, as Al Nassr imposed themselves early and capitalised on their attacking opportunities. With a strong travelling support and a packed stadium atmosphere, the visitors maintained control throughout the contest.

Fast start

Al Nassr took the lead in the 11th minute through Ronaldo, who converted from close range to set the tone for the evening.

The early breakthrough placed Al Wasl under pressure, forcing the home side to adjust quickly against a high-tempo attacking approach.

Momentum remained firmly with Al Nassr, who doubled their advantage in the 24th minute through Íñigo Martínez.

Just minutes later, Abdulrahman Al Amri extended the lead further in the 27th minute, effectively putting the tie beyond reach before the half-hour mark.

With a three-goal cushion, Al Nassr dictated the pace of the game, limiting Al Wasl’s ability to build sustained attacks. The UAE side struggled to find openings against a well-organised defensive setup, while the visitors continued to threaten on the counter.

The fourth goal arrived in the 81st minute, with Sadio Mané finishing off a fluid move to seal the result. The Senegalese forward’s strike capped off a clinical team performance that reflected both efficiency and control across the pitch.

Knockout progress

The result confirms Al Nassr’s progression to the semi-finals, maintaining their strong run of form across competitions. Their attacking depth and experience were evident throughout the match, particularly in key moments that shaped the outcome early on.

For Al Wasl, the defeat marks the end of their continental campaign despite the advantage of playing at home. The Dubai club, backed by strong local support, were unable to match the intensity and execution of their opponents on the night.

The fixture drew significant attention from fans across the UAE, particularly with Ronaldo’s presence adding to the occasion.
